Art to play with

If you want to take a closer look at my work, you’ll have an opportunity to pay me a visit. On 20 and 21 May, I will participate in the Atelier Art Route in Bodegraven Reeuwijk. At various locations artists will open their studios and there are also other places where artists will exhibit their work. During the route, music can be heard at various locations. Besides all this, a number of shop windows in Bodegraven-Reeuwijk also feature art by participants. I created an artwork for the shop window of Van Dam glasses, Brugstraat 7 in Bodegraven.

The artwork consists of 6 soft play blocks made of snippets of fabric that you would normally throw away. I made new fabric from these snippets and play blocks from that fabric. There are (English) words embroidered on the blocks that can be used to make short sentences, which to me have to do with parenthood. They invite you to play with them and you can. Art to play with!

My studio can be found in Nieuwerbrug, (along the N458 towards Woerden). Address: Weijland 38. It is open on Saturday 20 May and Sunday 21 May from 11.00 to 17.00.
