Buying

How can I buy an artwork?

If you have seen an artwork on my website and wonder if it is for sale or what the prices are, please send me an email through my contactpage and let me know which artwork it concerns. Most artworks on my website indicate whether it’s available or sold but sometimes the information may not have been updated.

Once I have received your message I will send you the price information. All prices on my price list are in euros and do not include shipping costs.

If you have decided to buy an artwork, I would like to know whether you will come and collect it from my studio in Nieuwerbrug  (the Netherlands) or whether you would like me to send it. If you are not sure which work of art you would like to buy or you find it difficult to make a choice, you can also make an appointment for a studio visit.

What kinds of payment do you accept?

If you buy an artwork from me in my studio, you can pay through an immediate online bank transfer, tikkie (you will need a Dutch bankaccount to use this payment method) or a Paypal link. Of course, you can also pay cash (euros only). After payment, you will receive a receipt from me and of course the artwork, wrapped in a large sleeve of bubble wrap or foam.

If you buy the artwork online and you would like me to ship it to your home address, you can pay by bank transfer or I will send you a Paypal link. The amount will be increased with the shipping costs. After receiving the payment, I will send the artwork to you. To pay with a Paypal link, you need a Paypal account.

Import duties and taxes

Foreign shipments may be subject to import duties and taxes according to the laws of the destination country. Any additional costs associated with these are the responsibility of you, the customer. I have no control over these costs, nor do I accept responsibility for additional costs..

Shipping

What are the shipping options?

I send my artworks by registered post with Post NL. The shipping costs for this are higher than for regular shipping, I therefore apply a flat rate of € 10 shipping costs within the Netherlands. This amount applies to parcels with a maximum size of 100x50x50cm and a maximum weight of 2kg.

For larger parcels, I will send you a shipping rate on request.

In the Netherlands PostNL delivers from Tuesday to Saturday and you can follow the shipment with a track & trace code. You have to sign for receipt.

Do you ship internationally?

I also ship my artwork internationally. Shipping costs are of course higher than nationally and it takes a little longer before you receive the parcel.

I ship to a number of countries within in Europe for a flat rate of € 20. This amount applies to packages with a maximum size of 100x50x50cm and a maximum weight of 2kg. For larger parcels, I will send you a shipping rate on request. The countries in Europe to which this rate applies are listed below.

To which countries applies a flat rate for shipping?

A flat rate for shipping applies to parcels with a maximum size of 100x50x50cm and a maximum weight of 2kg.

Shipping rate of 10 euro.

I send my artwork within the Netherlands for a flat rate of 10 euro.

Shipping rate of 20 euro.

For countries not listed here, a rate applies on request. If you would like to know the shipping costs for shipping to your address, please contact me to enquire about costs and options. Don’t forget to include your address in the message.

Delivery time

As soon as I have received payment, I will contact you about the progress of your order. When the work is packed and handed over to the carrier, I will send you a track & trace code to follow the package.

Packaging

I pack my artworks carefully and securely in bubble wrap and cardboard. To reduce the impact on our environment, your purchase is packed with reused and/or recycled materials whenever possible.

Returns

How about returning?

If the artwork you bought from me online is not what you expected for whatever reason, you have 14 days to indicate by e-mail that you want to return it. After that, the purchase is final.

Do you accept international returns?

At present, I cannot accept returns or refunds for artwork that has been shipped outside the Netherlands.

What’s the returning process?

Send an email or a message through my contact page stating:

  • your name
  • which work of art it is about
  • the reason why you want to return it.
  • to which bank account number I may transfer the money

After I have answered your message and we have agreed on a return, you have 14 days to send it. As the buyer, you are responsible for returning my artwork undamaged. This means that it must also be carefully packed and sent again by registered post. The shipping costs you pay when returning the artwork will not be refunded. Of course, you may also make an appointment to return it personally.

Once the work of art is back in my possession undamaged, I will refund the purchase price within 14 days.n.

Other questions

What if my artwork arrives damaged?

My artworks are carefully packed and shipped. If you receive an artwork that has been damaged in transit, please save all the packaging material and contact me within 7 days. Take photos of the artwork as a whole, the damaged spot(s) and the shipping packaging.
